Caffe Moak Luxol ended Hibs’ unbeaten run in the women’s league this season to join the same Paolites at the top of the standings.

Luxol continued with their good form of late as Hibs had their experienced player Joselle Borg Cardona unavailable for this match.

Hibs are still a team in the making and their youngsters’ lack of experience was evident, particularly in decisive moments.

Luxol led from the jumpball, going on to hold a 19-7 lead by the end of the first quarter.

With Becky Naudi and Steffi DeMartino leading the charge, Luxol continued to dictate matters and they changed ends 31-17 ahead.

Hibs failed to stage a reaction and Luxol pulled further away to start the last ten minutes with a handsome 62-36 lead that was eventually extended to a clear margin of 80-57 at the final buzzer.

In another match, Starlites Sports Experience obtained their first victory, leaving Petrus Phoenix Loyola the only team without a win.

Loyola had a few players missing and they were outplayed by Starlites who took a 33-10 lead at half-time.

Loyola were unable to apply any kind of pressure as Starlites met no difficulty in adding to their advantage before sealing a 69-23 win.
