Jake Said will represent Malta at the Red Bull Kart Fight World Final in Austria next April after topping the time-sheets at the National Final which was held on Saturday at Badger Karting, Ta’ Qali.

The qualifying series took three months to complete with over 600 drivers taking part in the heats before the 50 fastest kart drivers emerged for the decisive stages of the competition which was similarly staged in various other parts of the world.

The final was a showcase of talent and superb karting where Said, 18, took the chequered flag ahead of Zach Zammit and Lucas Pace.

Said will be travelling to Austria next year for the World Final which will be staged in Spielberg.

“This was such a great race,” Said remarked at the end of the racing on Saturday.

“I’m very happy to have earned the right to represent my country in the World Final at the Red Bull Ring and I’ll promise to do my best to achieve good results.”

The organisers of the World Final said 18 nations will be sending their best amateur kart racers to Austria next spring for the World Final.

The event in Spielberg will get extensive coverage from the international media also due to the presence of distinguished personalities from the motorsport scene who are expected to visit the Ring during the World Final.
