The Medical Association of Malta recently elected a new council.

Gordon Caruana Dingli, a consultant surgeon and former MAM general secretary, is president.

Former president and consultant respiratory physician Martin Balzan is general secretary. Family practitioner John Paul Tabone is vice-president, while Sascha Reiff is incoming international secretary and Jacob Vella is treasurer.

Consultant surgeon Angela Sultana is consultant category representative, while Roberto Debono will represent resident specialists and Desiree Seguna will represent junior trainees.

Jean Pierre Cauchi will continue to represent doctors in private practice; Karl Causon will represent family doctors, while Joseph Portelli Demajo will represent the miscellaneous group of doctors.
