I read Ray Bondin’s letter (The Sunday Times of Malta, December 1) about Maltapost’s Christmas stamps. I share Mr Bondin’s idea about the Christmas stamp sheet; it is just a mix of colour and not a single detail is clear at all.

On the other hand, one cannot ignore that Maltapost seems to have learnt the lesson from last year’s Christmas set, which featured paintings that are not housed in any public or parish collections. At least this year’s Christmas set is supposed to feature scenes from the mechanical nativity crib at the Jesus of Nazareth Institute in Żejtun.

The postage stamp issue (November, no. 315) does not include details about the person who took the photograph upon which the set’s stamps are featured. If Maltapost used bigger stamps’ size this mistake would have easily been avoided.
