The Return, a short film imagined, written and directed by fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld, will premiere in Dallas on Tuesday – ahead of the Paris-Dallas 2013/2014 Métiers d’Art show at the Dallas Fair Park, a historical exhibition venue with art deco architecture in the heart of the city.

Following the short film Once Upon a Time…, which debuted last May in Singapore, in which Lagerfeld explored Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel’s early days in Deauville, this new film, The Return, retraces her steps as she re-opens her couture house in 1954.

On the outskirts of Paris, Lagerfeld recreated the historical decor of Chanel’s salon and atelier, located on Rue Cambon, and assembled a cast of celebrities to recount the revival of the House of Chanel at that time.

The Return features Geraldine Chaplin in the role of Gabrielle, alongside Rupert Everett, Anna Mouglalis, Lady Amanda Harlech, Arielle Dombasle and Kati Nescher, as well as Vincent Darré and Sam McKnight.
