A one-day conference entitled The Multidisciplinary Approach to Healthcare for students from all healthcare-related courses at University was recently held to help them appreciate the role each profession has in treating and rehabilitating a patient holistically.

The students also took part in workshops where case studies were used to discuss the various roles involved.

The conference at the Cavalieri Hotel, St Julian’s, was addressed by representatives from all healthcare-related professions in the Maltese healthcare system.

It was organised by the Malta Health Students’ Association in collaboration with Betapsi-Psychology Students’ Association, Malta Association of Dental Students, Malta Medical Students’ Association, Malta Pharmaceutical Students’ Association and Organizzazjoni Studenti Qwiebel.

Their aim was to promote communication and teamwork between all healthcare professions to contribute to a more efficient, effective and patient-centered healthcare system.
