A campaign called Ċaqlaq (Move) aimed at promoting healthy eating habits and exercise among seven to nine-year-olds was held in a number of local primary schools through fun, comical and interactive workshops in the children’s classrooms.

During the workshops, a chef explained in simple terms the healthy food pyramid, encouraged them to eat more fruit and vegetables and prepared tasty and healthy smoothies for them to taste. The children were also taught the words and choreography of a song called I Need Vitamins and how to stay fit and healthy by exercising.

A total of 10,000 books reinforcing these messages were distributed to the pupils and schools as part of the campaign, which was endorsed by the Education Ministry and sponsored by the Institute of Prevention, Health and Environment of Fundacion Mapfre.

Middlesea Insurance, which forms part of the Mapfre group, coordinated the campaign with the help of animation group Generation Green.
