A police car and another vehicle were damaged in a commotion which broke out this evening when a Syrian boy was hit by a Land Rover in Hal Far, the police said.

The incident was sparked when the eight-year-old was hit in Hal Far Road at about 7 p.m. The boy was critically injured. The Land Rover was driven by a 41-year-old woman from Birzebbuga.

A car of the police Rapid Intervention Police Unit and an Isuzu Elf were subsequently damaged in the commotion in which the boy's parents were allegedly involved.
