Honey Athleta and Hibs extended their winning run after beating Petrus Phoenix Loyola and Starlites Sports Experience.

Caffe Moak Luxol are just behind the leading duo after their victory over PAVI Depiro.

Hibs seemed in control after dominating the opening two quarters but midway through the third session, Starlites launched a comeback that was ended by a technical foul against their coach with less than two minutes left.

The Paolites had the better start to lead 14-6 at the end of the first quarter. With Starlites unable to put pressure on Hibs, the latter changed ends 34-18 ahead.

An 18-2 break after the fifth minute moved Starlites within a basket. The match developed into an exciting affair as few points separated the two teams.

With Hibs 63-62 ahead, three free-throws by Emma Micallef sealed a 66-62 win for the Paola club.

As expected, Athleta met little resistance from Phoenix as they romped to a 79-20 victory after leading 32-8 at the interval.

Luxol maintained their revival as they condemned Depiro to their second defeat, 62-50.

After a balanced opening, Depiro hit six consecutive points to lead10-4. Luxol replied with a 10-point break to go14-10 in front.

Depiro’s reaction helped them to recover the lead and change ends 24-22 ahead but Luxol reclaimed the initiative in the third quarter to go 29-26 in front.

They retained a slight edge to begin the last 10 minutes with a nine-point advantage, 44-35, and, hard as they tried, Depiro could not reel in their opponents.
