The much-anticipated New Year’s Eve Valletta celebrations will see a 3D image installation, live performances and a new children’s area.

St George’s Square will host the main events, with live brass bands and the countdown. The graphic display, set to light up the open square, is being developed by 42 Mcast students and was inspired by a similar spectacle at Notte Bianca last month.

A series of sneak peeks will offer pedestrians a taste of the installation from December 22 till the big night.

Pjazza de Valette will be transformed into a children’s area and the open-air theatre will host hourly stand-up comedy performances by comic duo Ġorġ u Pawlu.
