Former Finance Minister Tonio Fenech yesterday accepted a clarification by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat on comments he made about him on November 12.

Dr Muscat had said that Mr Fenech interfered in the multi-million euro contract for smart meters.

Yesterday he said that David Spiteri Gingell, the ‘source’ of the information, had explained that Mr Fenech’s interference was in recruit-ment for Enemalta, not on the smart meters.

Dr Muscat withdrew his comments and Mr Fenech accepted.

The Speaker declared the matter closed.
