The Granny Project, the comical and satirical tale by the multi-award-winning author Anne Fine, will be performed by The Gozo Creative Theatre Club in collaboration with the Gozo Ministry’s Gozo Culture and Information Office.

This story deals with the emotional issue of the elderly and looks at how one family cares for their ageing grandmother. Ivan, Sophie, Tanya and Nicholas are determined to stop their parent’s plans to put their grandmother in a nursing home by means of their so-called ‘Granny project’.

However their plan backfires when Natasha and Henry allow Granny to stay, provided that all the cleaning, nursing and caring is done by the children. They try to keep their side of the bargain but find it extremely difficult.

The cast of this heartwarming family drama includes George Camilleri as Henry Harris, Mariella Cassar as Natasha Harris and Jamie Camilleri as the doctor.

The Harris children will be portrayed by Andre Cassar as Ivan, Laura Galea as Sophie, Clara Sciberras as Tanya and Joseph Mario Grech as Nicholas.

The production is directed by the theatre club’s artistic director George Mizzi.

The Granny Project will be staged at the St John’s Hall, Citadel Centre for Culture and Arts, The Citadel, Victoria, on Friday and Saturday from 8.30pm onwards.

Entrance is free and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
