• Għaqda il-Milied fix-Xagħra is organising a talk by David Xuereb today at 9.30am on how to build and paint Christmas nativity scene features at Xagħra Youth Centre, April 28,1688, Street, Xagħra.

• A Christ the King celebration will be held today at 4.30pm in St Augustine Square, Victoria. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will say Mass and deliver a message. In case of bad weather, the function will be held at Xewkija parish church.

• Masses at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm, followed by the recital of the rosary and Eucharistic benediction.

• Man of Steel will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30pm.

• The Friends of the Sick and Elderly (Gozo) will hold a charity sale at the football ground near the main car park in Victoria today and on December 8, from 7.30am to 1pm. The price is €10 for each car space, payable on the day.

• A Christmas bazaar will be held at St Anthony Centre at the convent of the Franciscan friars in Għajnsielem from today to December 1. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 4 to 7.30pm and on Sunday from 7.30am to noon and from 4 to 7.30pm.

• The OASI Volunteer Group is holding a seminar entitled ‘Im­proving life’ facilitated by trainee psychotherapist and life coach Anthony Camilleri, today at 8.30am at Manresa House, Mun­xar, limits of Victoria.

• Smash Hits Badminton Club is holding a badminton marathon today from 9am to 5pm at the Gozo Sports Complex as part of a marathon of table tennis, squash and tennis organised by the complex’s administration in aid of L-Istrina. All those interested in playing or watching are welcome.

• To mark the bicentennial birth anniversary of Giuseppe Verdi, St Margaret Band Club of Sannat, is organising a musical programme entitled Verdi 200 on Saturday at 7pm at St Margaret church, Sannat. The band, led by Mro George Apap, will play overtures, arias and excerpts from some of the composer’s most famous lyrical operas, such as Aida, Nabucco, La Traviata, Il Trovatore, Giovanna d’Arco, La Forza del Destino and I Vespri Siciliani. Entrance is free and open to all.

• MUSEUM superior Joe Fenech, who presents a weekly Saturday programme from 1 to 3pm on Radju Maria, is holding the first prayer and catechesis meeting at Our Lady of Pompey church, Victoria, on Thursday from 10 to 11am. All are invited.

• A painting exhibition entitled On Reddened Soil by Victor Agius is currently on display at the Gozo Ministry exhibition hall, St Francis Square, Victoria. The paintings, created by Agius between 2010 and the present day, embodying mixed media, objet trouvé and natural pigments, are being exhibited for the first time. The exhibition is open throughout November, Mon­day to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to noon. For more information, call 7959 4508.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Move­ment will hold a prayer evening at St Francis church, Victoria, on Saturday at 8pm, followed by Mass at midnight.

• The Bethel Charismatic Group will organise a prayer meeting at the MAS headquarters in Victoria on Saturday at 7pm.

• On the occasion of its 24th anniversary, the National Archives Gozo is organising an exhibition on the theme Engagements and Weddings in Gozo Past, between November 29 and December 31. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Gozo Minister Anton Refalo on November 29 at 11.30am. It will be open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 12.30pm.

• Centre Dance Academy’s next production in Gozo is Movies in Motion at the Teatru Astra, Victoria, on November 30 and December 7. The show is directed and choreographed by Natalie Sciortino. Tickets cost €15 each and bookings can be made by calling 7920 0488, 2156 5620 or 2156 5167.

• The next meeting of the Gozo Richmond Foundation Self-Help Group will be held on December 3 from 5.30 to 7pm at the NGO Centre, l/o Xewkija. The talk will be about preparations for family Christmas festivities. Dinner will be held afterwards.
