The 2013 edition of the annual Embed: Best Use of ICT exhibition is currently on at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta, providing an opportunity for teachers and students to participate in hands-on activities which focus on how technology enhances and transforms learning.

Organised by the education directorates at the Ministry for Education and Employment, the event is hosting workshops, talks and competitions for students, educators and the public. Technologies on show include tablet computers, the iLearn virtual learning environment, online collaboration, Web 2.0 tools, e-books, robotics, graphics, multimedia, educational games, software coding, interactive whiteboards and animation.

The eight-day exhibition is open to visits by students on weekdays until November 27 and is open to educators, parents and the public this Saturday and Sunday between 9am and 4pm. Students can attend workshops to learn new digital skills while educators, parents and adults can take part in sessions that show how technology can make education more fun and effective.

On Saturday, the second edition of the conference ‘Your classroom. Their future’ hosted by ICE Malta, will be held, bringing experts in the field to share their experiences and give insights on the fast-changing world of technology in education.

The best use of ICT in education over the past year will be recognised with the Embed Awards, while different competitions for students are being held in conjunction with the exhibition, to promote creativity with technology.

‘Embed 2012: Best use of ICT’ will be open for the public on Saturday and on November 29 between 9am and 4pm at the MCC, Valletta. Entrance is free of charge.
