The new Alfa MiTo model year 2014 has arrived, and it means business. It’s fresh, sporty and bursting with technology. Inspired by the lines of the Alfa 8C, the Alfa MiTo is still the same head-turning super mini it always was, however the standard specification has been fine-tuned to maintain that something extra that you can only get with an Alfa Romeo – value for money with a premium feel.

The MiTo features a new chrome grille, new Anthracite grey exterior colour, dark finish on the headlight mask which was previously only on the Quadrifoglio Verde.

On the inside, Alfa Romeo has created a new range of seat fabrics and styles, has introduced new Evoluzione colour gradient dash, new door panel finish, black finishing on the centre console and a Uconnect infotainment system with five-inch touchscreen.

There are four levels of the MiTo 2014: Progression, Progression+, Distinctive, and the range-topping Quadrifoglio Verde.

With regard to engine options, the MiTo 2014 comes in three petrol engines in 78 bhp, 135 bhp and 170 bhp, yet all capable of averaging close to 50 mpg on a combined cycle. There then is the ultra frugal 1.3JTDm2 that offers a ridiculously low consumption figure of 78.5 mpg while still packing a punch of 200 Nm of torque and yet remain classified in the lowest possible annual licence bracket in Malta of €100.

Alfa Romeo has also introduced the Uconnect system. This built-in system combines a top-quality sound system with multimedia services and functions thanks to a five-inch colour touchscreen and voice recognition using Bluetooth.

The Uconnect 5 radio has a media player which can be connected via USB port or Aux-in socket. The optional Uconnect NAV offers built-in navigation developed in collaboration with TomTom for simple, intuitive navigation.
