Despite the inclement weather and heavy rain, a short ceremony was held last Monday morning in the foyer of the Banca Giuratale, Victoria, as part of Remembrance Day activities, popularly known as Armistice Day. The ceremony was presided by Gozo Minister Anton Refalo.

Wreaths were then laid at the foot of Christ the King monument at Independence Square, Victoria, to honour soldiers who died during World Wars I and II, by the minister and representatives of various cultural committees and NGOs, including the British Residents’ Association, Victoria local council, Victoria Scout Group, the Anglican Chaplancy, the Armed Forces of Malta, the Police Corps, government departments and state and private schools.
