• A chairty fair takes place today from 8am until midday at the Marsalforn car park, organised by the Arka Foundation of Għajnsielem. Everyone is invited to bring along unwanted items and bric-a-brac to sell them, while buyers are invited to bag a bargain. To take part, sellers are required to pay a donation to Arka.

• St Mary Fireworks Group of Żebbuġ in collaboration with the Gozo Photography Association is organising a fireworks photography exhibition at the Żebbuġ parish centre.

The exhibitors are photographers who took part in the first edition of the Żebbuġ Fireworks Photography Competition, which featured the best photos taken during the Sky Concert and Żebbuġ 325 Pyromusicals let off during the feast of the Assumption of St Mary celebrated in the village last August. The exhibition opens today from 9am till noon and from 6pm onwards.

• Masses at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm, followed by the recital of the rosary and Eucharistic benediction.

• A car and military history display called the Classic and Military Vehicles Show will be taking place in Nadur Square, today from 9am to 1pm.

The Battlefront Living History Group Malta will be present at the event, displaying antique and rare military vehicles from World War II.

• A public lecture by Charles Bezzina, entitled Gozo During the 20th Century World Wars, takes place at the Cittadella War Shelters, Castle Hill, Victoria, today at 10.30am.

• Epic will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30pm.

• Journey into the Light is a collection of recent works by Anthony Caruana at the Banca Giuratale exhibition hall, Independence Square, Victoria, open until Wednesday. For more information call 9921 4743.

• A painting exhibition entitled On Reddened Soil by Victor Agius is currently on display at the Gozo Ministry exhibition hall, St Francis Square, Victoria. The paintings, created by Agius between 2010 and the present day, embodying mixed media, objet-trouve and natural pigments, are being exhibited for the first time. • The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church, Ta’ Hamet, on Saturday at 8pm,followed by Mass at midnight.

• The Bethel Charismatic Group will organise a prayer meeting at the MAS headquarters in Victoria on Saturday at 7pm.

• The Oasi Volunteer Group is organising a seminar entitled Improving Life next Sunday at Manresa House, Munxar, limits of Victoria. It will be facilitated by trainee psychotherapist and life coach Anthony Camilleri. The price is €15, including lunch. Registration starts at 8.30am. • On the occasion of its 24th anniversary, the National Archives Gozo is organising an exhibition on the theme Engagements and Weddings in Gozo Past, between November 29 and December 31.

Among the exhibits, which will include 24 documents and 24 photos, one of the main attractions will be Gianni Vella’s A Wedding Procession, which will be on show courtesy of Heritage Malta.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Gozo Minister Anton Refalo on November 29 at 11.30am. It will be open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 12.30pm.

• The Centre Dance Academy’s next production in Gozo is Movies in Motion at the Teatru Astra on November 30 and December 7.

With a cast of 200 dancers, the academy promises over two hours of spectacular dancing to some of the most well-known movie soundtracks.

The programme of dance and music will feature, among others, music from Pirates of the Caribbean, Rocky, James Bond moves, Gladiator, Pearl Harbour and Schindler’s List.

The show is directed and choreographed by Natalie Sciortino. Tickets cost €15 each and bookings can be made by calling 7920 0488, 21565620 or 21565167.

• The Gozo Ministry’s Culture and Information Office is organising a whole day of family activites at the Cittadella today entitled Ġewż, lewż, qastan, tin... kemm inħobbu lil San Martin. The programme starts at 9am, with the opening of stands selling typically Gozitan produce.

Heritage Malta will open four museums in the Cittadella, namely the Archeology, Folklore, Natural History Museum and the Old Prision.

The entrance fee is €3. At 10am, there will be children’s plays related to legends and traditions of San Martin. The programme ends with a screening of Donizetti’s opera Maria Stuarda projected on a big screen.

• MUSEUM superior Joe Fenech, who presents a weekly Saturday programme from 1 to 3pm on Radju Maria, is holding the first prayer and catechesis meeting at Our Lady of Pompey church, Victoria, on November 28 from 10 to 11am.
