The three most iconic publications related to Juann Mamo – Ulied in-Nanna Venut fl-Amerka, Personaġġi f’Ulied in-Nanna Venut fl-Amerka (by Anton Cassar) and the collection of poetry in Tħeġġiġa lill-Kittibin – were recently re-released as a box set by SKS Publishers.

The set, Sensiela Juann Mamo, includes the new edition of Ulied in-Nanna Venut, in which Prof. Manwel Mifsud was the main language consultant. The new edition comes with a compreh-ensive glossary and new critical introduction by Adrian Grima.

The book about the historical figures in the novel includes extensive research by Olivia Borg and Adrian Grima, who is also the editor of the series. The poems by Mamo, collected by Annalise Vassallo, are being published in book form for the first time.

The books were officially launched during this weekend’s National Book Festival.

Author and cultural activist, Juann Mamo was born in 1886, and died relatively young and in mysterious circumstances in 1941.
