The President has signed the amended Citizenship Act, which brings into force the International Investors Programme scheme, whereby non-EU citizens may obtain a passport for €650,000.

This was announced in Parliament this evening by deputy Speaker Censu Galea.

The act was approved from third reading in Parliament last Tuesday, with the Opposition voting against.
