The validity of old ID cards for foreign residents has been extended until December 31, 2015.

Yesterday’s front page article about the backlog in applications for the e-residence permit mistakenly said the validity of old cards had only been extended until December 31 this year.

The Home Affairs Ministry has issued a more extensive breakdown of the number of e-residence applications processed to date. Of the 22,846 applications received, 16,716 (73 per cent) have been approved.

A total of 12,936 e-residence cards have been collected by approved applicants. A further 3,356 have been approved but not collected while 424 have been approved but not yet printed.

The number of applications still being processed is 6,130 (27 per cent) of all applications received to date.
