When Manuel Mota, Pronovias’ chief designer, passed away, at the age of 46, earlier this year, many were left guessing as to what would be the stylistic direction the Spanish bridal wear company would take for its future collections.

The answer to this came a few months later when Pronovias unveiled its 2014 collection at the Barcelona Bridal Week.

As all those present quickly found out, Pronovias remained very much under the influence of Mota who, together with Lebanese designer Elie Saab, as one of its key contributors, once again regaled its followers with a feast of exclusivity and unmatched finesse.

The new 2014 collections of wedding and cocktail dresses from Pronovias are now in Malta and were unveiled during an open weekend at the Pronovias store in Gżira. Those attending the three-day event had the opportunity to feast their eyes on the latest Spanish creations for a forthcoming wedding day or special occasion.

The predominantly pure white, eternally romantic First Love collection comprises features, such as soft silhouettes, seductive sleeves, illusion necklines, gentle peplums and frills, floral appliqué and layers of lace and tulle.

As always, a mix of styles feature, from classic A-line skirts and ball gowns to confident, thigh-skimming cocktail dresses, figure-hugging fishtails and vintage-inspired sheaths.

Almost as beautiful as the dresses are the hair accessories that may be paired with the dresses – from long, luxurious veils to lace headbands, tulle bows, hats and stunning floral crowns.
