Kids’ parties can be a nightmare to organise, not only because of the usual logistical nightmares that come with such events, but also because after a few years, it becomes awfully difficult to surprise your child with something different.

Inspire – a local charity that provides therapeutic and leisure services for persons with disability – offers children and parents the break and solution they’ve been waiting for.

Inspire’s park in Marsascala is one of a kind in Malta. With over five tumoli of landscaped gardens as well as wild patches that provide a natural feeling in a well-kept outdoor facility, the park is home to an array of animals that were either donated or recovered from adverse conditions and are now kept in the best possible conditions under the care of specialists and volunteers.

With over 20 species of animals, including regular flying visitors that come and go as they please, it is guaranteed that your child’s party will become a memorable event for adults and kids alike.

Most of the animals can be handled or fed, providing children with the perfect opportunity to interact with them – an experience which, unfortunately, Maltese habitats do not provide.

Watch your children get mesmerised by the opportunity to interact with mountain goats, sheep, deer, monkeys, baby rabbits, ducks, owls, emu, and a charming noisy parrot.

After petting and feeding the animals, an amazing day can be topped up with a ride on a miniature railway track, a boisterous climb on the specialised frames and a tumble in the free-for-all play area, which includes go-karts and a wheelchair swing.

While catering can be provided by the park’s official caterer (Bucaneers), parents and guests are also free to bring their own food and drink and to make use of a fully equipped kitchenette.

The park’s opening hours are Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 2pm and Sunday from 10am to 6pm, but special arrangements can be made to accommodate parties outside the opening hours.

Use of the park is against a nominal fee per guest. All funds go towards the park’s upkeep and the animal welfare.
