• When a product sold does not meet the consumer’s requirements, which need to be communicated to the seller prior to the purchase, consumers are entitled to a free remedy.

• Goods bought must always be fit for the purpose for which goods of the same type are normally used.

• Consumers are not entitled to a free remedy when the fault in the product is due to normal wear and tear or misuse.

• Before paying for goods, consumers should check them out for any apparent defects.
