32,000 kilos of used batteries have been collected from schools by Wasteserv since 2009 as part of the Battery Buster campaign.

A further 98.67 tonnes of used batteries were collected from schools, local councils and other entities between 2010 and 2013.

283 tonnes of used batteries were collected at waste centres.

The minister was replying to a question by Labour MP Deo Debattista.
