The Ministry for Home Affairs this evening denied that Henley and Partners, the company which would handle applications for citizenship, would receive a commission of €140,000 for each application.

The claim was made yesterday by shadow minister Jason Azzopardi yesterday.

The ministry said it appeared that Dr Azzopardi had reached a hurried conclusion.

The ministry also accused the Opposition of scaremongering as it saw the government being proactive and coming out with new policies to ease the burden on taxpayers.
