Almost three-quarters of the new Midi seafront apartments at Tigné Point have already been sold, barely a week after they were placed on the market, chairman Albert Mizzi said yesterday.

The 39 apartments form part of a block which is expected to be completed in March 2015.

There are nine remaining apartments up for grabs.

He was speaking during an on-site visit to the Q1 block by Economy Minister Chris Cardona and Parliamentary Secretary for the Economy Edward Zammit Lewis.

They were given a viewing of the show apartment designed by Aom Partnership, with the interior design entrusted to Martin Xuereb and Associates.

“The response we received from local and foreign buyers for the recently released Q1 apartments has been overwhelming.

“Midi had already sold all 281 units previously put on the market at Tigné Point and it is clear the demand for quality property has not waned,” Mr Mizzi said.

Dr Cardona and Dr Zammit Lewis spoke about the Government’s vision to attract local and foreign investors to put their money in to such quality seafront apartments.

This, they said, went hand in hand with other schemes such as the global residence scheme.

Dr Zammit Lewis said the Government had already received five applications for this scheme in the few months since it has been open.

It replaced the High Net Worth Individual Scheme, launched by the previous government which had attracted six applications in 20 months, two of which had been refused.
