The President’s Charity Fun Run 2013, which aims to instil a healthy lifestyle among the population while raising funds for charity, was launched today by President George Abela.

Thousands are expected to participate in the seven-kilometre run, now in its fifth edition. It starts from San Anton Palace in Attard, and passes through a number of villages along the way to St George’s Square, Valletta.

It is being held on December 1 in collaboration with the Malta Amateur Athletic Association and is supported by the Ministry for Health, the Parliamentary Secretariat for Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Ageing and Valletta European Capital of Culture 2018.

Banif Bank Malta is again sponsoring the run, in aid of l-Istrina. A total of 14,000 people participated in the run last year.

Fun Run applications can be collected from all Banif Bank branches, the Palace in Valletta, the Palace at San Anton or online www.funrun.org.mt
