Angry because his neighbour’s dog urinated on his front door, a man retaliated by throwing his own urine at the facade of their house, a court heard yesterday.

The feuding Żejtun neighbours ended up in court after they accused one another of throwing urine and cooking oil on the walls of their houses.

The matter reached such proportions that, in August, Joseph Tabone and his daughter, Michelle, installed CCTV cameras to see who was throwing the urine and the oil.

Their neighbour, Anthony Bugeja, was captured on film and, when questioned, told the police that he had done it in full view of the CCTV cameras to send them a message that it was not fair that their dog was allowed to urinate on his front door.

All three were charged with harassment and depositing urine in a public place.

Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona warned the accused, who stood side by side before him, that their behaviour had to stop. He obliged them not to harass each other again.

No charges were brought against the dog.

Lawyers Jason Azzopardi and Raphael Fenech Adami appeared for the accused.
