The Emergency Response and Rescue Corps beach lifeguarding service at Blue Lagoon in Comino and Ramla Bay and Marsalforn Bay in Gozo stopped at the end of last month.

A total of 706 interventions to tackle anything from jellyfish stings and minor injuries to head and spinal injuries and cardiac problems were made during the season.

Lifeguards also assisted tired swimmers and searched for missing persons.
