Diver Sean McGahern has set a new world record for the Longest Warm Water Scuba Dive of 49 hours and 56 minutes.

The record was set in St George's Bay over the weekend.

He used the event to raise funds for  Inspire. McGahern was accompanied and assisted by the World Record Diving Malta team and the S. John’s Rescue Corps.

Mr McGaher spent most of his time keeping clearing the seabed of any debris he could find.

He came out of the water on Saturday morning and was given a check-up at Mater Dei Hospital.
