Consistent in its policy to take part in humanitarian initiatives, the women’s football section of the Malta Football Association is at the forefront of activities for good causes.

The MFA and the Action for Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCF) recently launched an initiative aimed at raising awareness of breast cancer – members of the women’s national football team became ambassadors of a programme of events themed Give Cancer the Boot.

The association has also arranged for its women’s national team and BOV women’s leagues and Under-16 league matches in October to be played with breast cancer awareness in mind.

Therefore, during this month, matches in all venues will be played for this good cause, with participants knowing that football is also a medium through which the public can be educated in various humanitarian values.

One of these is breast cancer awareness, accompanied by a lifelong mentality, whereby prevention is better than cure and also to discard the fear factor and face this condition with a bold and positive attitude.
