Notte Bianca has lit up Valletta and, as in previous years, attracted many thousands of people to the capital this evening.

More than 100 recreational and educational activities are being held throughout the city, museums are open free of charge, and restaurants are jam packed. Forecast possible rain has held off.

One of the new attractions is 'Architectural projections' of colourful shapes and figures on the newly-restored façade of the Auberge de Castille accompanied by music.

The projections, the work of  Bernard Magri and Reuben Zahra involve singers from all over Europe who were individually recorded and mixed to form a choir, joined in turn by a live choir on the stairs of the magnificent building.

The project was inspired by the selection of Valletta to be the European Cultural Capital in 2018.
