Two of the eight lanes in Aldo Moro Road, Marsa, will be closed in the coming days as work starts on the building of rainwater culverts.

A street through the former Malta Shipbuilding yard was recently opened to take some of the traffic.

The culvert will be part of the National Flood Relief Project.

The Infrastructure Ministry said work along Manuel Dimech Street in Qormi as part of the project has now been completed and the road is being reopened for traffic.

The works in Qormi involved the building of a wide culvert beneath Valley Road, the building of two culverts near the old bridge at the golf course and the demolition and rebuilding of three bridges – at Correa, Manuel Dimech and Windmill Streets.

An opening was also created near the bridge at St Sebastian Street.

Works on culverts at Aldo Moro Road started near the Marsa sports ground.
