The Royal Air Force aerobatics team the Red Arrows thrilled many this afternoon with their highly anticipated show given as part of this year's airX Malta International Airshow.

The airshow, now in its 21st edition, is being held this weekend and includes a number of other attractions, such as the Italian Pioneer Team, which has become one of the most requested in similar airshows worldwide.

Other attractions include Typhoon and Tornado jets. A pair of the RAF’s Tucano aircraft are sporting the livery used by Spitfires when they were stationed in Malta in 1943.

National pop star Ira Losco overcame her fear of heights when she did a loop-the-loop in an aerobatic plane just before the Red Arrows started their show.

She undertook the challenge after her Facebook page reached 40,000 followers.
