A man and a woman were accused in court today of having stolen three cars and broken into another 13 cars last Monday-Tuesday night. 

The cases happened in Fgura, Paola and Tarxien.

Stephen Borg, 35 of Birkirkara and Antonella Vella, 29 of Fgura, pleaded not guilty to having stolen two cars from a garage in  Fgura and a third car which was parked in Tarxien.

They then used the cars to store a range of items stolen from other cars including audio equipment and sun glasses.

Ms Vella was accused of violating the terms of a conditional discharge, a suspended jail term, and bail.

Mr Borg was accused of breaching bail conditions handed down in three cases.

They were remanded in custody.
