A dominant Sebastian Vettel comfortably won the Singapore grand prix in a Red Bull this afternoon, ahead of former champions Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) and Kimi Raikkonen (Lotus).

The Mercedes pair of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton came next followed by the second Ferrari of Felipe Massa and the McLaren pair of Jenson Button and Sergio Perez.

Vettel, who is well on course to winning his fourth successive championship, led from pole to flag and was a class of his own, also setting the fastest lap. At times he was two seconds per lap faster than the best of the rest.

Mark Webber in the second Red Bull was unlucky to retire in the last lap while in fourth and hitched a lift to the pits on Alonso's car.

McLaren, who have had a terrible season, were within a few laps of their first podium finish this year but their tyres dropped off and were rapidly overtaken by Raikkonen, the two Mercedes and Massa.
