Three men are expected to be arraigned in the coming days following drug finds.

A 40-year-old man from Sicily who lives in Malta is expected was arrested following a drug find at his apartment yesterday.

In a statement, the police said that early yesterday afternoon a bag containing what they suspect to be cannabis and about 250grs of cocaine was found in the air shaft of a block of apartments in St Julian’s.

Police from the Drug Squad and the St Julian’s police station searched the Italian’s apartment, where they found another five kilograms of cannabis.

The Police arrested the man, who is expected to be arraigned shortly, and a 25-year old woman from Bulgaria.

Another two men - a 44-year-old from Sliema and a 63-year-old from Sta Venera, were arrested following a raid in Triq is-Serkin, Marsa, this morning.

Cocaine and heroin, packed and ready for trafficking, were found during a search where horses are kept, the police said.

The raid was coordinated by the Drug Squad and the Rapid Intervention Unit.

The two men are also expected to be charged in the coming days.

Inquiries are being held.
