Europa Donna Malta will be marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month with events focusing on good health at Bay Street on October 6.
The activities will include preparation of healthy snacks, activities organised by Msida Sea Scouts and a Taekwondo demonstration.
Awareness of breast cancer and the importance of breast care was boosted when the Breast Care Support Group was set up in 1989. In 2004, it was affiliated with Europa Donna, the European breast cancer coalition, which advocates for optimal treatment for all women in the EU.
Its aim is to support people diagnosed with breast cancer and to provide encouragement for those having treatment through to recovery and life after treatment, including possible reconstructive surgery.
