Eight paws from two cats were found nailed to a cross beneath a roadside statue in Mosta this morning.

The shocking discovery was made by people who live in the area in the late morning.

One of them said the cross must have been placed there in broad daylight because it was not there in the early morning.

The police have for the most months been investigating several cases of dead cats found nailed to crosses in Mosta.

CAT CLUB REWARD

The Malta Cat Club in a statement expressed is shock at the latest case and the fact that no one seems able to catch the Mosta 'maniac'.

It said it is setting up a reward fund to encourage people to be more vigilant in order to catch the person/s committing these crimes. A reward will be offered to whoever brings this perpetrator to justice.

The club invited contributions to the fund and said donations of over €50 would be publicly acknowledged. A receipt will be issued to each donor who donates more then €5 to the fund.

Club president Marvic Attard Gialanze said this issue needed to be taken more seriously and people should report any suspicious movement.

Cheques may be made out to the Malta Cat Club at PO Box 18 Valletta.

The Malta Cat Club is a registered NGO with the Commissioner for Non Governmental organizations and is fully authorized to collect donations for a purpose.
