Notorious, straight-talking and entertaining all at once, hip-hop act No Bling Show seems to have a bottomless pit of creative resources that has propelled them to the upper reaches of the music scene.

Explicit hip hop, particularly in Maltese, doesn’t qualify as a mainstream audience’s musical preference, and yet the band’s following boasts an interesting cross-section of the population.

It has a lot to do with their topical, hard-hitting tunes as well as their inventive theatrical presentations, which makes a No Bling Show gig more than just a concert. Those who have yet to experience a No Bling Show can do so at the band’s upcoming concert.

The event, called Kif spiċċajna l-ħabs? (How did we end up in jail?), will take place, rather appropriately, at the Old Prison grounds in Corradino, with the band set to perform not only old favourites and stuff off the new album, but also some brand new tunes written specifically for the occasion.

The event will take place on Saturday, with Chris Birdd and Chapter Zero as support acts, kicking off at 9pm.

Tickets cost €10. For more information, look up No Bling Show or the event page on Facebook.
