A family festival in the private gardens of San Anton Palace is being held on September 28, between 6pm and midnight to raise funds for L-Istrina 2013.

The ‘l-Istrina Wine Festival’ will be held under the auspices of the President  and Mrs George Abela.

For a nominal fee, visitors will have the opportunity to view the extensive restoration works undertaken on the Palace, the private gardens, the Russian Chapel and the Kitchen Garden amid various entertainment ensembles that will be playing in different areas.

The entertainment will be provided by the AFM Combo Band, the Versatile Brass Band and George Curmi il-Puse and Band, among others.

A commemorative wine glass will also be given to visitors upon presentation of the entrance ticket and can be used for wine tasting during the event. The festival will also feature different food items produced by the Palace’s kitchen.

“Following the overwhelming response to the sold out Rockestra, we are expecting another significant response to this family event which will open San Anton Palace for public enjoyment.

"The event will include live entertainment, wine and food making it a great night out on a Saturday evening in the illuminated private gardens of the Palace and the Kitchen Gardens.

"Families will also be able to follow a couple of artists who will be painting live the private gardens. A limited number of tickets will be available as from tomorrow on a first-come-first-served basis,” President Abela said.
