No wonder that more than a quarter of students who sat for their O level Maltese examination failed this year. What with the very bad spelling on the TV stations and the outrageous use of such words and expressions as appuntat, invitat, żewġ min-nies, ġewwa l-belt, and so on. I can’t blame the students.

Those who should know better ought to learn how to speak good Maltese, not to mention the atrocious spelling on Facebook.
