A man who offered a prostitute €20 to see her breasts got more than he bargained for after she stole €80 from him aided by her pimp, a court heard yesterday.

Donna Camilleri, 26, and her pimp Kyle Mifsud, 21, both living together in Santa Luċija, robbed the man in Marsa on Saturday at around 11.30pm shortly after she got into his car.

Once inside, the victim offered €20 just to see her breasts, but Ms Camilleri demanded more money while offering more services in return.

At that point it is alleged that Mr Mifsud got into the car and threatened the victim before they stole his wallet containing some €80, sources close to the case said.

During the arraignment yesterday, both defendants denied robbing and assaulting the victim, while Ms Camilleri denied loitering with the intent to prostitute herself, breaching the conditions of a previous release, committing a crime during the operative period of a suspended jail term and relapsing. Mr Mifsud also denied driving without a licence or insurance.

At one point, Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera spoke directly to Ms Camilleri and asked her if she was purposely trying to defy court orders and the help that was offered to her.

She noted she had previous convictions for misappropriation and breaching bail conditions.

Mark Busuttil, appearing for the couple, asked if the court could appoint a probation officer so that she might change her ways.

He said Ms Camilleri had managed to find work at a factory, which was a positive development for her.

The magistrate denied bail and remanded Ms Camilleri in custody but recommended that she could report to work every day with a police escort to drop her off and pick her up.

Ms Camilleri said this was not an option for her because it would be humiliating and that she would rather lose the job.

Mr Mifsud was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €10,000.
