The local chapter of ISACA – formerly known as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association – has elected a new board of directors for the term July 2013 to June 2014 during its annual general meeting.

The new board is composed of Vladimiro Comodini, Gian Carlo Millo, Robert Cachia, Rebekah Duca, Bernard Farrugia, Robert Farrugia, Anthony Formosa, Gordon Micallef and Andrew Schembri.

The AGM focused on several initiatives taken throughout the 2012/2013 term and specifically discussed a marketing drive to increase the chapter’s profile in Malta and awareness on information security, IT risks and IT audits. The outgoing board also successfully organised monthly educational events as well as a breakfast meeting and a half-day conference. Membership has also increased to just over 140.

Following the AGM, ISACA held its annual networking event, open also to non-members, which was attended by around 100 professionals.

As an independent, non-profit, global association, ISACA engages in the development, adoption and use of globally accepted, industry-leading knowledge and practices for information systems. It has more than 103,000 members in 180 countries.

The ISACA Malta Chapter was officially formed in March 2005 and recognised as the 186th chapter. It has over 145 members out of which, more than 85 are Certified Information Systems Auditors.
