This weekend, the Malta table football team will compete in the World Cup, being held in Madrid under the auspices of the Federation of International Sports Table Football (FISTF).

The Maltese selection is made up of Charles Aquilina (cap-tain), Massimo Cremona, Samuel Bartolo and Angelo Borg. The teams competition is scheduled for Sunday.

In the individual events, to be played on Saturday, Bartolo, the national champion, will feature in the open category, Cremona (champion) and Aquilina (runner-up) in the veterans and Borg (U-19 champion) in the Under-19 section.

The contingent, headed by Malta Table Football Sports Association president Joe Zammit Pavia, will depart for Spain today.

Zammit Pavia is also a member of the main board of the FISTF.
