The pre-Budget 2014 public consultation period will start tomorrow with a meeting of the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development.

Finance Minister Edward Scicluna will formally present the pre-Budget document and the Government’s vision for the coming Budget to the social partners, a statement said yesterday.

On Wednesday, the Finance Minister will also be inviting various stakeholders to a business breakfast, where they will have the opportunity to consult, table queries, and share their own respective perspectives.

The Finance Ministry said it will also be holding several pre-Budget public consultation meetings around Malta and Gozo to ensure the widest participation possible. The dates for the public consultation meetings are as follows: September 9, Floriana; September 11, Marsascala; and September 17, Gozo.

Additionally, the Finance Ministry invited the public to contribute to the pre-Budget consultation process through the ministry’s website (www.mfin.gov.mt), where contributions can be submitted through an online form.
