Maltese tenor Cliff Zammit Stevens will be holding his fifth annual summer concert in Archbishop Square, Mdina, next Saturday.

The programme this year includes various well-known and lesser known art songs and arias that are sure to please the classical repertoire connoisseurs and those who simply enjoy classical music.

Zammit Stevens will be accompanied by French pianist Laila Barnat and British soprano Louise Alder. The three young performers will be performing works by Bizet, Duparc, Strauss, Puccini and Donizetti, among others.

“Performing for my family, friends and for those people who helped me so much in this journey is a great experience,” said Zammit Stevens. “When I started on my journey, I never thought I would be able to experience so many great things; that I would be able to organise my very own concert five years in a row, perform on the BBC, work in a touring company or meet and work with people like Robert Sutherland (Maria Callas’ ex-accompanist).”

The tenor is currently following the Masters of Performance programme at the Royal College of Music, London. He has gained considerable experience in working roles, including his debut as Nemorino in Pop Up Opera’s new production of L’Elisir D’Amore.

Zammit Steven’s upcoming engagements include Cassio in Verdi’s Otello, appearances in Corfu, and Tito in La Clemenza di Tito.
