We never thought it was going to be easy... But sometimes, you just have to play the game. This is the problem in a nutshell: after we get to St Petersburg, the bikes get packed into boxes, put into a truck and get driven to Malta.

But.... The cyclists were going to cross the border at Narva on their bikes while the truck carries their luggage...

Spot the problem? The bikes are either on the truck documents to both get in and out of the country... Or....

Well, there isn't really option 2.

So, the plan now is to unload the luggage, which we will carry across... And load the bikes which will be driven across. A hundred metres inside Russia,we swap bikes and luggage again. The God of Bureaucracy is appeased, we get in, the truck will be able to leave Russia again. Sounds like a plan. What could possibly go wrong?
