Beverie Sultana (picture), one of the most decorated players in the Maltese women’s national rugby champion-ship, will be playing for US Premiership team Glendale Raptors next season.

Sultana has accepted to join the Denver-based team who offered her a three-month contract to play rugby for them in the new season which starts next month.

Last year, the Raptors qualified in second place in the national championship. Rugby is the major sport in the state of Colorado.

Sultana has shown great commitment and dedication to the sport since she took up rugby eight years ago.

Through these years she registered constant progress and has been an influential player for club and country ever since her first international call-up in 2007.

Sultana can play at inside or outside centre position.
