A private air charter company, airX, has teamed with the Malta Aviation Society, organiser of the Malta International Air Show, for the forthcoming edition.

MAS president Joe Ciliberti said today the show will be held on the weekend of September 28 and 29. It wil be the 21st edition.

"This agreement demonstrates a clear commitment by airX to support the growth of the Malta International Airshow and the aviation industry in Malta," Mr Ciliberti said.

He said that several countries had confirmed their participation in the airX Malta International Airshow 2013. The aircraft will range from military jet fighters to cargo planes. The Armed Forces of Malta (AFM), Air Malta and private Maltese flying schools will also participate. The special guests will be the RAF's Red Arrows team.

It is estimated that around 15,000 families visit the airshow every year. 

airX provides luxury private charter flights across Europe. The company established its operations in Malta earlier this year.
